I had a dream that I was in my childhood home but it was actually a swim up style resort on the inside with multiple pools and rooms. It was snowing on the deck on the outside. My dad and his girlfriend were walking out there and somehow my dad slipped and died. My brother and I felt confused in our grief and didn’t know how to tell anyone what we’d just seen. No one believed us. I was supposed to fly to India so I boarded the flight, which was a school bus on the inside and full of rowdy college athletes, meanwhile I had all of my middle aged health supports and supplies to make this flight comfortable. I ended up turning around after talking to my brother and somehow leaving mid flight to go back home to figure out what happened with my dad and how to move forward. It felt emotionally complex
Dreams often combine elements of your waking life, subconscious thoughts, and emotions. Here's an interpretation of your dream:
Childhood Home as a Resort: Your childhood home represents your roots, nostalgia, and personal history. Seeing it as a swim-up style resort with multiple pools and rooms might suggest a transformation or change in how you're viewing your past or upbringing. Pools and resorts often symbolize relaxation and a sense of escape. This could indicate a desire to revisit your past with a fresh perspective or a more positive outlook.
Snowing on the Deck: Snow typically signifies purity, calmness, or a sense of peace, but it can also mean coldness or emotional detachment. The juxtaposition of snow with a resort setting might reflect conflicting emotions or situations in your waking life, perhaps involving warmth and comfort versus coldness or isolation.
Dad's Accident and Death: Dreaming about a parent's death can be very unsettling. It may not literally mean death but symbolizes a significant change or loss. Given that it's your father in the dream, it might relate to a figure of authority, guidance, or support in your life that feels lost or changed. The presence of his girlfriend suggests complexity in familial relations, potentially pointing to unresolved issues or emotions regarding his personal life or changes in family dynamics.
Confusion and Lack of Belief: Your confusion and feeling of disbelief resonate with the complex emotions you're experiencing. That no one believes you adds an element of isolation or lack of support, perhaps indicating that you feel unheard or misunderstood in your waking life concerning personal loss or family issues.
Flight to India on a School Bus: Flying symbolizes a journey or a transition, often spiritual or significant in life. India is associated with culture, spirituality, or exploration. The school bus, filled with rowdy college athletes, suggests a sense of immaturity, chaos, or competition. This indicates a wish to escape from current responsibilities or emotional chaos in pursuit of personal growth or understanding.
Middle-Aged Health Supports: These items signify concerns over your well-being, body, and mind, or possibly anxieties about aging and health. They could also imply a desire for comfort and support amidst navigating personal challenges.
Turning Back Mid-Flight: Choosing to return mid-flight hints at unfinished business or unresolved feelings that need attention before you can move forward. It reflects a need to address these emotional complexities and the situation involving your father's incident before being able to embark on new paths or transitions.
Overall, your dream reflects a blend of nostalgia, emotional complexity regarding familial relations, a confrontation with feelings of loss or change, and a desire for understanding and resolution. You might be yearning for clarity and peace regarding past or present situations, seeking ways to harmonize these conflicts to move forward effectively.
